The Vision of TheCall’s Spiritual Air Force Academy

The Lord spoke to raise up an air force that would win the war in the heavens. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities and powers in heavenly places.

Our mandate is to raise up national bases with Nazarite intercessors who can challenge these spiritual forces of wickedness through prayer and fasting. History has shown how these ancient weapons have engaged the forces of heaven to dismantle strongholds, destroy ideologies, and shape history. May the Lord raise up a house to contend against every other house!

Our vision is to build up a Spiritual Air Force Academy of "Long Distance Flyers"--pilots sent for the purpose of winning the war in the heavens at a moments notice. We seek to do this within the context of a healthy community, providing an Air Force Base of Operations at Mott Auditorium. It is in this base where they will be trained in the context of family, covered in prayer while on assignment, and embraced as they return from their prayer strikes. Along with the Spiritual Air Force Academy and Base of Operations, these flyers will be situated in the context of 24/7 prayer at the Pasadena International House of Prayer. It is from this Tabernacle of David that they will be sent out to contend with the battles in the heavenlies.

Our goal is to raise up dozens of these companies ready to be flown out on heaven's assignments, in order to secure the heavenlies for the proclamation of the Gospel unto the ends of the earth. We are believing for a reformation in modern missions: to see contending intercession in prayer and fasting pave the way for domestic revival and foreign apostolic missions. TheCall’s Spiritual Air Force Academy will be involved in collaborative ventures with the different streams and expressions of the Body of Christ.

It is the Spiritual Air Force that comes and purges the skies before the ground troops, evangelists and apostolic church-planters, sweeping the ground. May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering!

Lou Engle

Lou Engle is the visionary and co-founder of TheCall, Inc. Lou's passion is to call young adults into a lifestyle of radical prayer, fasting, holiness, and acts of justice. With over 30 years of history in praying for revival, Lou has helped plant two churches, the pro-life ministry Bound4LIFE, and raised up the first Justice House of Prayer (JHOP) in Washington D.C. to pray for the Supreme Court and for righteous leaders in America. He has also given wisdom and vision to many other movements. Lou presently resides in Pasadena, California and is a part of the leadership team at the Pasadena International House of Prayer. Lou and his wife, Therese, have been married for over 30 years and have five sons and two daughters together.

Rod and Marion Hall

Rod and Marion Hall graduated from Genesis Discipleship Training Center in 1983. Afterwards, they went on to become youth pastors for an Assembly of God church in Albany, Oregon. Rod continued his schooling in Pensacola, Florida, at the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry. They later moved to New York City and taught at TheCall School of Ministry for two years before joining Lou Engle in Fort Mill, North Carolina. For over 10 years, they have been running with Lou, traveling ahead of TheCall gatherings to pray, teach, and disciple young people.

Romando and Marcia Matthews are the co-founders and current directors of the United House of Prayer (UHOP) at USC. For the past 1 ½ years, they have collaborated with TheCall and other Los Angeles prayer ministries to lead citywide prayer meetings at the historic Bonnie Brae house. After spending time on the mission fields of Mexico in 2001, Mando and Marcia became inner-city missionaries, attended World Impact’s School for Urban Church Planting and helped plant a church in Hollywood, CA. They taught and ministered inner healing to individuals from all walks of life, especially college students, upon completing discipleship, inner healing, and deliverance training through Resurrected Life Ministry. Mando and Marcia are worshipers at heart! They have written songs, arranged music and directed choirs of children and adults. Over 20 years of collective professional experience in academia, healthcare, business and property management, affords them a unique ministry perspective. Mando and Marcia have been married for 14 years and have four children.

David Kim

While growing up in the Bay Area, David radically encountered the Lord during his high school years. He attended UC Berkeley for his undergrad, and he also served with Campus Awakening. In 2010, he felt called by God to “rebuild the altar” and establish NAOS, a 24/7 house of prayer in the city of Berkeley. Currently, David is working with college and high school campuses throughout California; he is also working with Lou Engle and TheCall, Inc. His one passion is Jesus, and his singular life goal is to grow in holiness and love for God. David’s life vision is to raise up intercessors from this generation to contend for revival and missions. David and his wife, Audry, live in Pasadena, CA.

Dean Briggs is an intercessor, dreamer and revelatory teacher who has ministered across the nation and many nations of the earth. As a former pastor and church planter, he now serves as chief strategy officer for TheCall and also as a trainer for the Spiritual Air Force Academy (SAFA). Dean co-authored The Jesus Fast with Lou Engle. His other books include Ekklesia Rising, a manifesto for legislative authority in prayer, and the 40-day fasting devotional, Consumed. His life messages on sonship, the gift of righteousness, ekklesia and other revelatory insights are catalytic for grounding believers in the high call of God in Christ. Together with his amazing wife Jeanie, they have seven sons and one daughter—their Great Eight.

Paul and Cheryl Amabile and their family have been involved in the prayer movement since the mid-90’s when they started a night watch at their local church. At the start of 2005 they relocated to Washington, DC to help pioneer the Justice House of Prayer with Lou and Therese Engle and have been working together ever since.  Their passion is to see America turn back to God and to prepare the next generation in Christ to bring breakthrough and transformation to the nations of the earth. Paul and Cheryl have been married twenty nine years, have six children and live in the Los Angeles area.
