The Prayer Wall on Eight Mile Road
As a house that has historically been divided against itself, the corporate Body of Christ is guilty of racial and spiritual apartheid. We have negated our spiritual and moral authority to address and bring healing to the bitter wounds from the injustices of America’s yesterday.
Detroit’s Eight Mile Road is unanimously known among native Detroiters as the most prolific socio-economic, racial, and cultural “dividing line” in the region.
We feel that the Lord has given us a divine opportunity to participate with Him in healing the nation’s wounds by making known the “manifold wisdom of God” through our multi-cultural display of love on Eight Mile road.

THE STRATEGY
Tearing down the wall of enmity, and raising up the wall of righteousness. We’re praying in the spirit of Ephesians 3:19 that we would “know the love of Christ”, and “be filled with all the fullness of God” with understanding according to Ephesians 2:14–16:
He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
Like Nehemiah, we invite you to join us on THE WALL.
Then I said to the nobles, the rulers, and the rest of the people, “The work is great and extensive, and we are separated far from one another on the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us” (Nehemiah 4:19–20).
WHEN: 7 days a week, from 2–3pm.
WHERE: In front of the shopping center at the cross section of Eight Mile and Lahser Road. (Please check our site often as we anticipate posting other prayer locations along Eight Mile in the coming days).
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1) We are NOT allowed to park our vehicles in the shopping center parking lot. Anyone who does this will be towed. Please park in the CVS parking lot across Lahser Rd., near the back. 2) Although we have increased police presence, please hide and secure all valuables in your vehicle or leave them at home. Anything that you bring, please keep on your person in a hidden place.
3) We have designated spokespersons and trained leaders. We ask that you yield to their leadership and parameters while participating in THE WALL.
4) Please do not bring and blow shofars during our stand. While we respect and honor the significance of shofars, there are a number of safety reasons why we do not want to draw more attention to ourselves. |
