Purpose
The purpose of TheCall Houston was to contend for the ending of abortion and to spark an adoption revolution.
Summary
Lou received a phone call from a prophetic friend in Texas who told him that Planned Parenthood was in the process of building the largest abortion supercenter in the Western Hemisphere in Houston, TX. Lou was stirred to confront this death center head-on in prayer and fasting.
John Piper released a prophetic statement during this time, stating, “Wave 1: Catholics say No to abortion. Wave 2: Evangelicals flood the land with [Crisis Pregnancy Centers]. Wave 3: Blacks and Latinos pull it down.” This word was profound, considering that the new abortion supercenter in Houston was being built in the middle of four neighborhoods that were predominantly Black and Latino. Thousands were stirred to pray for the raising up of these minorities to begin to pull down abortion.
Several subsequent pro-life movements have sprung up in Texas and across the nation, including a women’s pro-life ministry Back To Life Movement, and 818 The Sign, a Black American pro-life initiative.
